Join us for an experiential 2-day workshop on herbal medicine making, hosted by The School of Health and led by medical herbalist Amaia Dadachanji who has 22 years of experience in herbal medicine and 17 years in professional clinical practice. In these workshops you will experience making a wide range of medicines to support your studies online or work with plants. This 2 day workshop will be is experiential, sensorial and fun! There will also be plenty of time for questions.

Day 1
- Introduction & welcome
- Tinctures, teas, hydrosols, and syrups - medicines made with water. 

Day 2
- Ointments, infused oils, creams, and essential oils - medicines made with oils.
- Summary & farewell

Amaia’s teaching emphasises connection with nature, plants, and the seasons. Drawing from her years of working with indigenous and naturalised plants, as well as her global experiences with Ayurvedic and shamanic traditions, Amaia’s holistic approach ensures a richly rewarding experience serving to complement online studies with herbal medicine. 

Who is it for?
Student of the School of Health on the Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Homeopathy or Naturopathy Courses.

Study options
This event can be attended in-person or online. If you join in person you will get to make medicines as Amaia teaches. For those online you can also get the ingredients and equipment and follow online.

Venue
Event held in the picturesque town of Stroud. Due to the practical nature of this event it would be lovely to see you in person. Stroud is close to the M4 and M5 and is 90 mins from London on the train.

Meals and refreshments
Students will head out into Stroud for lunch, there are lots of cafe and eateries. A selection of tea and herbal teas will be provided in the mid morning and mid afternoon breaks.

Equipment
Course fees includes basic ingredients and jar so you can take some samples home.

Certification
An attendance certificate will be issued after this event for 12 hours (12 CPD points).

Amaia Dadachanji

About Amaia Dadachanji MNIMH BSc(Hons) BA(Hons).
Amaia has taught various workshops and courses all over the country, with an emphasis on connecting with plants, nature and physical, emotional and spiritual health. She has students all over the world and teaches many different kinds of herbalism in various forms from in person mentorship to snail mail packages. She runs community-supported medicine gardens and works with groups from many marginalised communities. Amaia has a deep interest in grief, trauma-informed herbalism and accessibility.

Amaia practises at her herbal apothecary near Stroud, Gloucestershire. Her clinic started as a wild apothecary – using the plants she found in her local habitat which became a treasure chest of medicinal gems. Read more abut Amaia.
